Travel plans: Russia

I am not sure how to select the places to see before you die. There are many lists, and I even have a special edition of Life magazine on this. Everything is interesting and worth visiting and exploring. But I am from Russia, and I think Russia is one of the countries you need to see in your lifetime.

Russia has the largest territory in the world, lots of history, different climate zones and many cultural sites to see.  It is easy to travel to Finland, Sweden and other European countries as well as Georgia and  Armenia from Russia.

Perhaps, cultural tourism is the most popular reason people come to Russia. This year Russia hosts World Cup. Many people will be traveling to attend matches and see the country.

If you are planning to travel to Russia this summer, make sure to apply for a fan visa or regular tourist visa as soon as possible and read Russia travel advise.

Russia travel advise on the US Department of State website: https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/international-travel/International-Travel-Country-Information-Pages/RussianFederation.html#/

US-Russia relations are not the best now. I'd like to think that this will change.

Have fun traveling and be safe!
